Daytime Sleepiness Following Head Injury Study

DO YOU HAVE TROUBLE STAYING AWAKE SINCE YOUR HEAD INJURY?

Many people who have had head injuries feel sleepy during the day, even if the injury happened years ago. The research team at The Sleep Medicine Centers of Western New York is currently conducting a clinical study to assess how well a study medication works for daytime sleepiness as a result of head injury.

You may qualify to participate if you:

  • Are age 18-65
  • Feel sleepy 5 or more times a week during the day
  • Are willing to take tests and medication for 12 weeks
  • Are available to sleep overnight in our sleep lab (5 times over the 12 week study period)

If you are eligible to participate you will receive study related medical care at no cost to you; compensation for your time and travel and study medication at no cost to you.  (Study medication is FDA approved for use in other sleep related medical conditions.).

If you are interested and would like more information about this study please call our research line at 250-5000.
