About Us

The Sleep Medicine Centers of Western New York was founded in 2002 by Daniel I. Rifkin. It has since grown to 33 beds with centers all over Western New York and in Florida as well. He has been joined by partner Dr. Sandra Block expanding their expertise in pediatric sleep medicine and clinical research. Dr. Kenneth Halliwell, who recently completed his sleep medicine fellowship at the University at Buffalo, is the newest addition to the group.

Our Mission: To provide excellence in sleep medicine care.

We provide consultations to adults and children with sleep problems including:

  • obstructive sleep apnea
  • insomnia
  • restless legs syndrome
  • narcolepsy
  • REM behavior sleep disorders
  • parasomnias and more

We offer a safe, comfortable sleeping environment to study your sleep.
We read and interpret sleep studies, and provide them to you and your physicians in a timely manner.
We carry out research to further knowledge in sleep medicine.
